Everything to know about Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti Detroit restaurant including the menu and food prices - MLive.com

DETROIT - From lyrics in his smash hit song, “Lose Yourself,” to an actual restaurant nearly 20 years later. Here’s everything we’ve learned about Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant opening tonight in Detroit.

The eatery, which opens for business on Wednesday, September 29 at 5:00 p.m., will be located inside the newly-opened Union Assembly restaurant at 2131 Woodward Avenue in the alley next to the Fillmore.

This project is a partnership with Union Joints Restaurant Group, which is behind such restaurants as Vinsetta Garage, Clarkston Union, Union Woodshop, Fenton Firehouse and Honcho.

It started with a test pop-up Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant in 2017 at The Shelter music venue. The food was also served at various Eminem live festival performances and events like Coachella, Firefly and Governor’s Ball. Shady Records also had Union Joints deliver food to frontline workers at numerous area hospitals during the pandemic. Now, it has evolved into a permanent space.

“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Paul Rosenberg, manager for Eminem. “The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring spot that would be open all year long.”

Mom’s Spaghetti will be a walk-up restaurant serving three things: Mom’s Spaghetti ($9), Mom’s Spaghetti with meatballs ($12) and a S’ghetti Sandwich ($11) along with water and pop.

“We’re proud of the fact that we created a scratch sauce that tastes like it’s straight from the jar, and wok-firing the noodles gives it that leftover pasta snap,” said Curt Catallo, co-owner, of Union Joints. “The walk-up window and small diner-like spot for people to eat, adds to the feeling that this is a homegrown, DIY experience.”

The adjacent upstairs store, “The Trailer,” will sell Mom’s Spaghetti merch, items from the Eminem retail collection (including limited editions and coveted dead stock) and memorabilia from the Eminem archives. We’re told you can also expect drops and rotating stock at “The Trailer,” which is limited to eight “Stans” at a time.

“The Trailer” retail space that Ann Stevenson designed is a nod to Eminem’s character in “8 Mile.” It’s something that belongs in Detroit, and it feels right at home in this space,” added Catallo.

Hours are not yet posted, but Union Assembly is open Wed. and Thursday from 4 p.m. - Midnight (Kitchen ‘til 10 p.m.), Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. - 2 a.m. (Kitchen ‘till 11 p.m.) and Sunday from 3 p.m. to Midnight (Kitchen till 9 p.m.). It’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
